OH MY...I hope you dont start in the middle of winter, and have a few months experience before that....

Tarping in the winter is a real PIA......Yor tarps are like waffles, you cant fold them right because they are so hard....your straps will freeze, and form Ice on them.

I suggest, you dont leave them on your trailer in the winter, keep them in your toolbox, to keep them dry.

Also be very carefull walking on top of the load, it will most likely be slippery as heck....

Always keep a torch with you, to melt stuff....

Oh yea..the most important thing....a set of heavy duty winter coveralls..You'll be glad when you put them on..

As already stated, try to keep your tarps in the side box. If you don't have one on the trailer try talking the boss into geting one. I found that if I had a frozen tarp, I unrolled it and worked it out so I could walk on it some to break up the ice. Those heavy insulated coveralls are a lifesaver at times. Alsom try to always tarp inside a building if you can, no matter what weather.

Only drive from Florida to Southern California during the winter. You will avoid all the frozen tarps, and ice covered deck walking.

Here's one tip:
If it's a nice day, and you get your deck clean, but you're headed into bad weather, tarp your trailer's deck. That way, when it's time to load, the deck will be clean as a whistle, and safer to walk on. It takes a little time, but the mess it will save you from while loading will be well worth it.
