We get a small bit of live stock.

Most is pet store stuff. Live fish and reptiles.

Very seldome a dog. Very seldome. Most pick them up at the airport.

Yet these fish. Some times many 5k" worth go plane then sit in a truck for a bit.

I hate doing this. I thought that is why we had small cargo vans?

The crickets and small rodents for feeding to reptiles I can see. Just the fish. Not like they are gold fish. You are talking all types. Salt water and fresh water. What the hell are they doing sitting on a dock?

Sorry, no real help here, but I do find it funny,
"why are they (fish) sitting on a dock..."

My answere, well duh! Where else do you fish from?

ok all joking aside, this is an interesting situation, I had no idea about... I guess I'd better learn how to shift smoothly are their water would soon be gone...

Also on a side note: Can you tell us a little about your background? Who do you work for - that sorta thing...

Thanks.

The fish are shipped kinda like live plants.

They are shipped in styrofoam containers with bags of live fish in them. The bags are about 1/3 filled with water and the rest conpressed oxegen.

All is air freight. We pick it up at a hatchery and deliver to airport or visa versa and then deliver to a pet store.

When I hauled mail,I would often see live animals being shipped via the US postal service, usually it would be chicks in boxes with holes, during the winter. It seemed odd,but I was told that it was pretty common.
