I need help on "strapping" this load down... Also does it look approriate?
The load is new tin cans headed to a cannary to be labeled and filled...

THis was posted in the family room, but nobody seemed willing to help in there, so I've moved it here.

Anything I can do to the load to make it look more realistic, let me know.

As for the tractor, it's still in progress... This was shot right after the paint and graphics were done, now it's time to detail it... I've got the stacks and breathers on it...

Thrown one 4" strap across each pallet until the back one. Put one 4" and one 2" with a hand winch. If this was a real load on a real trailer I would have put an extra piece of dunnage under the back of those last pallets on the tail end to keep it from walking backwards.

On a load like this, I would use V-boards..prefferably, the plastic kind

also avalable in different sizes

OOPs! It didn't look like brick but I can see where it might be. V-boards would be a good idea. I never had any plastic ones tho' HBT. Always the wooden ones held together with what looked like 4" strap pieces.

the plastic ones over the brick, are like 50 bucks a piece....can you say I need 14 of them???

I'll stick with my home made wooden ones for now.. ;)

I always had a roll of that orange plastic screen stuff like they put on job sites to put around brick. I could talk a job foreman out of a roll of it if given the time. Sometimes being a female has it's advantages.....lol
Sometimes it was enough that they realized I was the only person in that big old truck and it amazed them.

I would put 2 straps on the first and the last skid, and one strap on all the others. To be detailed, I would have some corner protectors under each strap also.

Hey Atco! That load is leaning to the port side, my friend. You can see daylight under the tires on the off side.....lol

so a little bit like this simplistic redering?

Dark yellow are straps
and the brown are suppose to be those corner boards or V-Boards?

These are the models in the Competition... You can see mine near the bottom. It's the Blue/Silver Pete 379... I've yet to figure out how to get Yahoo Photo URLS to post up a pic. But yeah check em out... They are almost all flatbeds based on one of the rules of the competition...

In all reality, a load like that should be tarped. It's square, it's low, it keeps the load out of sight form the LAW! :classic: With the loads securement regs open to so much scrutiny AND interpretation.....

For the extra 15 minutes, it might be worth the effort!
