How many of you have hauled lumber that didn't have to be tarped and had it walk out on you on either end?
I have and it didn't take me long to find a remedy. First I would always raise the front and back with extra dunnage. Then I would stop at the first place I could find a bottle of Sprite. Shake that Sprite up and spray it over the front of that load and it won't walk. Or just spraying the load with water will do the trick also. But never let the shippers or recievers know you did it.....lol

The moisture will make the ends swell up thus making them tighter in the bundle. An extra 2x4 under each end is all you require. On longer lengths of material (12' and over) if you crank really hard on the straps that secure the centre of the bundle you can actually cause the bundle to arch, thus preventing the bundle from telescoping.
Spraying the ends with straight water is the simplest and causes no damge to the lumber.
