OK, we're home and the truck is in the shop again!!! Just got off the phone with Cat and yes, another head has gone bad. This makes 3 heads and we're starting to wonder!!!

Is anyone else having problems with the new Bridge motors like this?

Cat now has almost 3 pages of things that have gone wrong, and this is starting to get to the rediculous side of things.

Anyone who has a C-15 Bridge, please let us know if you have been experiencing similiar problems, as we would like to start trying to document them.

We're thinking its time for Cat in Peoria to look at what's happening and explain why, not to mention fix the problem. I'm seriously thinking that the problem lies elsewhere and is taking the heads out.

:noclue:

What has it been doing prior to having the cylinder head failure?

Overheating?

Water in oil?

Pressure in cooling system?

Ever notice that whenever an engine manufacturer tries something new, that usually a multitude of engine problems follow?

I remember problems happening in '99 and 2000 when Detroit tried using 2-piece pistons in their engines, and when Cummins came out with the ISX and Signature 600 engines.

That's one of the main reasons I've stuck to my old & proven 3406E model Cat.

New trucks are nice, but I've seen more of them sitting on the shoulder or on a hook than I've seen older trucks in the same predicament.

My ride has 1,391,225.7 miles and counting.

OK we have a verdict, at least on the loss of coolant. Port for the number 5 cylinder has an internal crack on the head.

Of course, as I got told on the phone, now they still have to figure out whats taking the turbo's out. They still don't understand that part of it!!

Guess I definately agree with these new bridge motors being a POS!!!

We followed one of our other trucks to Casper, Wy yesterday at about 20 mph trying to nurse his truck in as his turbo had let go on him. We safely made it and thankfully the Peterbilt had the right replacement turbo. Finally on the road tho a loss of 5 hours driving time.

I have a question for anyone with these Bridge Motors. How many are having cooling and turbo problems, etc?

Please let me know, I would like to get an idea on just how many lemons there are of these motors out there.

Thanks!!!
