The NFL channel was so impressed that 65,000 fans showed up last year for the spring game, that they decided to televise it this year. Well, the weather didn't cooporate, and only 50,000 or so showed up. It was kinda cold and windy out.
But, the loyal fans that DID show were treated to a blowout. The Red beat the White 38-0, I believe. In the midst of all of it, a nice battle for the starting quarterback spot ensued. Both the #1 guy and the #2 had great days.
BTW, the score was lopsided due to the fact that the Red is the 1st string and the White is the 2nd string. We have had years that the guys on the 1st string were barely better than the 2nd stringers and the game was close.
I hope the NFL found this to be worthy of a camera crew and announcers and will do it some more at other schools and maybe even in Lincoln, again. I'll be watching the scrimmage when I get home. Kathy taped it for me. Now that's a good woman.....One that will watch a football game for her husband, just so he can see it later. Well, she is a Husker fan, after all.
