Good morning forum! What's everone up to? They are doing major road construction right behind my place. The congested 2-lane road is being widened to 6-lanes plus a center island with turn lanes! They are also lowering the road bed 18 feet! The construction started last month and is expected to last for 18 months. What ticks me off the most is that they start work before 7:00am and wake me up with their bulldozing equipment. Everytime a piece of equipment backs up it goes: BEEP..BEEP..BEEP..BEEP..BEEP!!!!!!! right outside my &#*% window!!!!
Anyway, how is everone elses morning?

Good Morning! Hi Joe. I am recovering as good as can be expected, but not nearly as fast as I'd like to!

Preacher,
The day I got hurt, they told me I would be down for at least a year. I thought they were all nuts! I have always healed fast, and figured on being back to work in a few months.
Now, 16 months later, I'm getting a little stir-crazy.
Just sit back, and behave yourself. Better to heal 100% slowly, than to be in a rush, and setting yourself back a notch by doing too much too soon.

Thanks Jimbo. I guess it is better than being laid-up for 16 months! Man, I would be going nuts! But I am strictly following the Dr's orders. I don't want to keel over with another heart attack while I'm on the road. I was fortunate that it happened to me while I was at home and not while driving or in some lonely, dirty old hotel room.

Well, I'm sorry, but we are going to have to require at least a 3 day notice for any future heart attacks. You must fill out a HRF (Heart Attack Request Form) and wait for the RHAA (Requested Heart Attack Authorization) to be returned to you. Only after your authorization has been received, may you have any heart related illnesses.
Thank you.

By the way Preacher, I don't know if you notice the cross I wear in my picture. I have had it for years, and will not go anywhere without it. I am not what you would call a "Jesus Freak" or anything, but I do hold strong beliefs.
I have had that cross in some pretty bad situations, and come through each one pretty well. When they were preparing me for my operation in December, they told me that I had to take off all Jewelry. I told them that the cross doesn't come off for any reason. They had me take the necklace off, and taped the cross to my wrist.
The day I got hurt, I asked for help keeping my senses, and they were kept. I asked for a little help with the pain, and it came. I still hurt pretty bad, but it was much more managable.
I am of Irish and Polish lineage, and proud of both. The Irish in me gives me the fighting spirit to face anything, even when the odds are against me. And the polish in me gives me a good hard working ethic, even if I do walk into a wall now and then. The cross I wear is a Celtic cross, and symbolizes a mix of GOD and Nature. Both are to be honored and respected in my book.

Great testimony Jimbo of God's power and His love! I too respect both God and nature, which is His creation. The bible says we are not to worship the creation, but He Who created it all. We are also to be good stewards over His creation. I greatly respect His creation. How can you not look at a sunset over the Rocky Mountains, or a flower blooming in the desert, or look at the stars above at night, and not respect the creation. But when I look at the splendor of it all, I'm in total awe of He Who created it. So keep wearing your cross, it's a reminder of just how much He loves us all.
