You can keep the skunk & I'll raise you one wild chipmunk who chases the squirrels.

Woodchucks are rodents just as Beavers are, but don't build hooches in ponds like Beavers do. Must be only second cousins, eh? The Woodchuck has a fur covered tail more like the gropund squirrels (gophers). Muskrats are pond dwellers like Beavers but smaller and their tails are round not flat and not furred similar to the Beaver.
Didn't know that the Woodchuck's range existed West of the Mississippi. It is not West of Ontario in Canada and the gophers don't live East of Manitoba as well as the Magpies, too. Nothing East of the Red River tastes right I guess! Woodchucks provide food for Foxes and Cayoots where there are no gophers! They all cause horses and cattle to break a leg when they step in the den holes, so they ain't got any friends amongst the ranchers and farmers. When ya shoots em they aint got enough fur for skinnin like the Beavers and Muskrats which make fine Winter coats and can be eaten if your a little short on meat, but ya need a license to trap them for the fur!

Gophers around here disappear in a red mist (as seen through the scope of my .22 rifle). :ninja:

Any other varmints are fodder for my 12 ga., .30-30 or .44 magnum. :ninja: ;)

Appologies, why was I thinking that scene with that overgrown weasel was in Texas? Yes, Wisconsin is the beginning of the good land soil, air and water when Westward bound!
