Thought I'd post this in the Family room as my American eskimo is a part of our family!

A Dog's Prayer

Treat me kindly my beloved master, for no heart in all the world is more grateful for kindness than the loving heart of mine. Do not break my spirit with a stick, for your patience and understanding will more quickly teach me the things you would have me do.

Speak to me often, for your voice is the world's sweetest music, as you must know by the fierce wagging of my tail when your footstep falls upon my waiting ear.

When it is cold and wet, take me inside, for I am now a domesticated animal, no longer used to bitter elements. And I ask no greater glory than the privilege of sitting at your feet. Though had you no home, I would rather follow you through ice and snow than rest upon the softest pillow in the warmest home in all the land, for you are my god and I am your devoted worshipper.

Keep my pan filled with fresh water, for although I should not reproach you were it dry, I cannot tell you when I suffer thirst. Feed me clean food, that I may stay well, to romp and play and do your bidding, to walk by your side, and stand ready and able to protect you with my life should your life be in danger.

And, BELOVED MASTER, should the GREAT MASTER see fit to deprive me of my sight, hearing and health, do not turn me away from you. Do not make heroic efforts to keep me going, I am not having any fun and I can no longer protect you.

Hold me gently in your arms as skilled hands grant me the merciful boon of Eternal Rest. I shall leave this earth knowing with the last breath I draw, that my fate was always safest in your loving hands.

Very nice post. The 2 dogs in our house mean the world to me, and I hate to think of the day that one of them will no longer be there to keep the other one company.

:D
Thanks for sharing
We have a house full of fur babies and when I say a house full I mean a house full!
And none of my dogs sleep outside all night.
They are all spoiled rotten brats!

Dogs Prayer
by Dog

Now I lay me down to sleep
The King bed is soft and deep
I sleep right in the center groove
My human has no room to move :harhar:

I've trapped her legs, she's tucked in tight,
And here is where I pass the night
No one disturbs me or dares intrude
'Til morning comes and I want food! :lover:

I sneak up slowly and begin
To nibble on my humans chin,
She wakes up quickly without pause
Encouraged by my teeth and claws! :yikes:

Now morning's here, it's time to play.
I always seem to get my way.
So, thank you Lord, for giving me
This human to take care of me!
Amen :D

Warning grab a tissue!

I Stood By Your Bed
I stood by your bed last night, I came to have a peep.
I could see that you were crying, You found it hard to sleep.
I whined to you softly as you brushed away a tear,
"It's me, I haven't left you, I'm well, I'm fine, I'm here."

I was close to you at breakfast, I watched you pour the tea,
You were thinking of the many times your hands reached out to me.

I was with you at the shops today, Your arms were getting sore.
I longed to take your parcels, I wish I could do more.

I was with you at my grave today, You tend it with such care.
I want to reassure you that I'm not lying there.

I walked with you towards the house, as you fumbled for your key.
I gently put my paw on you, I smiled and said "it's me."

You looked so very tired, and sank into a chair.
I tried so hard to let you know that I was standing there.

It's possible for me to be so near you everyday.
To say to you with certainty, "I never went away."

You sat there very quietly, then smiled, I think you knew ...
In the stillness of that evening, I was very close to you.

The day is almost over... I smile and watch you yawning
and say "goodnight, God bless, I'll see you in the morning."

And when the time is right for you to cross the brief divide,
I'll rush across to greet you and we'll stand, side by side.

I have so many things to show you, there is so much for you to see.
Be patient, live your journey out ... then come home to be with me.

Abby
She's mostly white with a black and brown face,
eager and ready for the next squirrel chase.

Alert, devoted, always looking for fun,
playing and romping in the warm bright sun.

Witty, comical, happy, never sad,
in my eyes she is good, not bad.

Small in size, smart as a whip,
enjoys giving a playful love nip.

Proud as a lion, watchful as an owl,
wouldn't turn down a good tug on a towel.

Anxious and willing to take a walk down the street,
introducing herself to everyone she meets.

A friend, a pal, with a heart full of love,
there is no doubt she's my angel from above.

A smile on my face after a day of hustle and bustle,
when I see Abby, my little Jack Russell.
