Hey Folks.....some of you I have cabits with some of you don't know me from Jane....but heres a nutshell of the story.
@ 2 yrs ago my other half started driving for "Arrow Trucking". He talked me into giving up home life and joining him on the road. I had to do the school thing ...(had driven school buses the school yr & triaxel for yrs as a summer job w/a small company in the 80's, but they went out of bussiness and I do not have verifiable exp), went thru training, tested out and am on the road FT driving team with him.
Now to the problem, "Arrow" can't seem to get there heads together w/dispatching a team, ie: keeping us busy enough too make it profitable for us to stay. They have sucky team pay rates. I was wondering if there may be a few of you with suggestions of where to look for a "Team Oriented" flatbedding company. I have a keen mind to get thru the BS hype of the ads, but figured those whom are on the road and have talked to or worked for would be a good angle to look at also..........so any and all info would be greatly appreciated!! copper

CB,
I'll talk to the Waggoners drivers next time they come in to our place...
It has always seemed to me they are pretty happy with their company...
They also run a kind of schedule... for instance, ever friday they leave Texas for CA, and they leave CA back for Texas by Wed. just to repeat... They have other freight lanes including Canada...

I do not work for them, but, like I said I'll talk to the drivers and see how they treat Teams..

Also, the "Arrow" in know is Flatbed, are you both interested in staying flatbed or doing something else?

Best of luck to ya both. at least give em a call...

To be honest I don't know of any company that is set up to run a flatbed as a team. You have to just find the company that will let you reset delivery times earlier so you and hubby can run it that way. But you also have to stay on dispatch to make the delivery dates and receiving earlier than if there was only one of you in the truck. Pick up the load and then figure out when you can get it there and then tell dispatch. It's not easy but it can be done. Look for a small company that will work with you whereas a large one won't.

I think CRST Malone is set up for teams. Or is that just for the dry van division..?

I heard (from another company driver...didn't see it for myself), that Roehl has 2 husband/wife flatbed teams.

I'm not sure if you would be interested in buying a truck, but I have been leased to Landstar in the past. I pulled vans, but I do remember seeing some team loads on their flatbed load board in Laredo and other places.

Schneider has a flatbed division, and as many dedicated accounts that they have, they may have some runs that require teams.

Otherwise, most flatbed companies are sort of regional-based operations.

I know Prime has flatbeds, and probably has some teams pulling them, but I'd stay away from them due to their "Lease-Purchase Scam Program".

CC you know Prime has a new name huh? Prime-Rent-A-Truck. You never get it paid for and you don't get to spec it the way you want it.
