I wandered a foreign shore and a chill went thru my bones,
Could I have come full circle back to a place I used to roam?
What is my connection to this stretch of sand and sea?
Why does it touch my mind? How can it speak to me?
The roaring of the battle, the silence of the dead,
Crying of the wounded echo thru my head.
Slowly I walk across the sand, places out of history.
Omaha, Sword and Juno, what are your ties to me?
Hero's from another age died here in sea and sand.
What is my connection to the members of this band?
I, for one will not forget those that went before.
Men that died for freedom here on a foreign shore.
