OK We all know I ain't driving right now but I'm gonna tell ya'll about my last truck... The BarneyMobile. She was a 379 Pete flatop, 475 Cat, 18 spd. tranny, 3:36 rears draggin a Reinke 48' aluminum spread axel. And lemme tell ya'll, not only was she longlegged, could climb like a big cat, rode very smooth, but that danged thing was so purple it hurt your eyes to look at her! I sure do miss that baby.
'05 Freightliner columbia mid-roof with a C-15 CAT and ZF meritor 9 speed "top 2"(I absolutely detest this transmission) no idea on the rears, but she is sporting michelin X-ONE super singles
The wagon is a 48 ft x 102" Reitnauer(sp) ultra-light all aluminum flatbed with a rear lift axle and PSI auto-inflation system and bunches of LED's
Pretty nice combo and looks really sharp all cleaned up and shiney(like right now sittin in the driveway)
Hey CD!!...That flatbed....what year is it?..How are the welds holding up?...How heavy you load that thing?.....When I bought mine, I was going to go all aluminium, but I was kind of nervous and went with a combo..

CD,
I believe I saw on the Reitnouer website that they bolt their trailers together rather than using welds. Is this true or did I read it wrong ?

I'm not CD but yes they bolt them together .
They will build the trailer to suit your needs.
High dollar equipment, but will do the job first class.

96 W900, 300"wb 120" ICT, 550 CAT, 18oo, 3.55s
04 Transcraft 48x102 D-Eagle A/R spread.......... cheap but does the job
HAY...................sorry about the delayed reply fellas(been pretty hectic out here in tejas as of late)
All of our Reitnauer trailers are less than 2 years old,and the ones that we pull on the "dedicated" are brand new.
As far as weight goes,I rarely go above 50k,but can scale as much as 53k with this particular combo. The 10 truck fleet that I ride on hauls nothing but sheetrock and roll stock paper(6000# rolls),The rest of the company hauls just about anything that will go on a flat, but tends to stick to oilfield pipe and sheetrock. Have not heard of any major issues with the trailers and do know that the boss has them made to his spec's.
Rub rails and stake pockets are a step above spot welded, but not fully welded.......the decks are bolted and the ribs are bolted.
Reitnauer makes a really nice trailer and they pull like a dream!! :D
