:wacko: :wacko: :wacko: :D that would be ME! I've been around machines my whole life--from miniature steam trains to cars to ski lifts and now trucks! Don't ask me why I like DEERESLAYERS ("cornbinders", BAH! :hmph: ) so much! We use 'em here in my company http://www.delawarenorth.com/AboutDNC/ParksAndResorts.asp and they've been good trucks. And they're what got me hooked on big trucks :cool: ! I've worked and lived in Yosemite for four years now. In the winter I work as a lift operator at Badger Pass, California's oldest ski area, and in the summer I'm a truck driver for river raft rentals; when I'm not loading, throwing or driving I'm in the river! :bleh: Nice getting paid $10 an hour to swim! And I get to wear a t-shirt, swimtrunks and sandals to work! :harhar:

Anyways, I've had an excellent time here and really enjoy the cameraderie and wealth of knowledge and info there is here!

a little update--on Wednesday the 16th I passed the DMV road test and got my Class A CDL! :cool: :D Began studying in August, got my permit in October and attended driving school two days a week beginning in November.

International truck engines just suck! I have driven enough of them to know i would never buy a IH engine, give me cummins anyday.

And IH can't even make as damn door that seals out the wind, on a windy day in the winter you almost freeze from the cold coming through the door panels! And this was a 2006 truck!

I like the ones I've driven. If the 466 wasn't a good engine they wouldn't still be making it 34 years later! ;)

Exactly my thoughts! When I worked in the shop we had several customers with 4900s that had DT466s in them. A few kept them longer than others and in medium-haul work they would often reach the 900,000-mile mark before needing more than an scheduled maintenance on them.

I heard a MaxxForce engine run and dang they are quiet! :wow:

OK now I gotta take up skiing, gotta see this lift operator outfit, sounds like it could be a real perky situation. :D

:rofl: :rofl: :rofl: ummmm, acorn, that is my SUMMER work uniform!! In the winter I wear WINTER clothing! (boots, snowpants, jacket, etc...) :D
