my dad built this locomotive from scratch. The scale is 5 inches=1 foot, the track gauge (width) is 15". It's a real steamer-- no gas engine with train sound effects :rolleyes:

:D of course since he's really into trains he calls me a traitor 'cause I'll be driving trucks! :rofl:

No, but he's been a machinist for 40 years-- give him a set of drawings and he'll make it! :cool: Some parts though, such as the boiler, had to be made elsewhere, due to the laws regarding pressure tanks.

around 3-5 years. Some components were made by an outside source, such as the boiler and tender tank
