UPS Freight votes

On Sunday April 6th workers at UPSF voted for Teamster representation, voting overwhelmingly yes. This is the first round of voting, bring in over 9000 new members to the Teamsters.

Second round of voting will take place in the near future to hopefully bring in the remaining 6000 folks under the contract.;)

The unionization of UPS Freight will be a good thing.

I remember what it was like to work for a non-union UPS shop- I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

As for UPS Freight going UNION, more power to them. Hoefully it works out. Lots of talk about this on another board, some are happy and some very[smilie=real mad.gi:.

As long as someone lives in a "Right to Work State" it doesn't matter if the company votes to unionize. In Arkansas ,which is a right to work state, you can't be forced to join the union to keep your job. With that being said I wouldn't assume all those people are going to become dues paying members. On the other hand I wouldn't assume they aren't. Only the future knows how many will actually join up.
