I don't claim to have all the answers, but I do know where to look them up.

I will do what I can to try and educate those that ask why we do what we do. At times you will think we have nothing better to do but write you a ticket. I hate writing tickets, but do it because it is my job. Here in NC when you pull anyone over you have to do a "Stop Sheet" which includes race, reason, and so on. I have to do that sheet even if I give you a verbal warning. Being in the city I do not do much for speeders or such, but being that I-85 goes right through part of town I do see alot of trucks and we do have authority on Business 85. I know NC Law and what most Police can and can't do.

I am from a LEO family of sorts. My Uncle is a Captain with the Illinois State Police and on my Wife's side, her Dad is a retired Reno,NV Police Officer and her Uncles are retired Reno, NV Police Lieutenants.

I hope that you feel comfortable asking questions and I will do my best to give the best advice I can.

About me...

I got out of HS in 97 and joined the Air Force, did that for 5y 10m and got out.
Drove an End Dump trailer for a company in E. St. Louis, IL
Worked for my Step Dad fixing semi axle spindles for Carolina Axle Surgeons
Quit that after 6 months and went to the Police Academy here in NC
Plan on retiring as a Cop, but who knows, I may wind up back in a truck.

What does your father inlaw or you for that matter think of the TV show Reno911?

I guess thats if you have seen it,its pretty goofy/strange and when I've caught it while channel surfing I for some reason wonder what LEO's think of it.

Reno 911 is like a training tape for LEO's for what not to do.

I think it is funny myself. We had a girl in my Academy class that wore here vest on the outside during firearms week. We started calling her Junior. :rofl: :rofl: :rofl:

Overall it is just another show, but kinda funny.
