As truckers, we have what is probably among the most sedentary of occupations that anyone could have.

With that being said, the long periods of being seated behind the wheel can cause circulatory problems in your back & legs, not to mention high blood pressure.

Guess what? Even a 30-minute walk once a day could help reduce the possibility of the aforementioned problems from showing up!

If a driver manages his/her time properly, they can MAKE TIME to get a daily walk in! When it comes to your health, make time to take care of yourself NOW instead of having to deal with the serious consequensces later on!

I was doing exactly that, for a few months. Then I changed jobs and have been much more pressed for time. Now, the best I've been able to do is park as far away from the truckstop as possible. This forces me to walk farther.

My biggest problem has been the banged up knee. When it gets to hurtin' I ain't walking too far. It's been much better, as of late and I've been able to walk farther.

Dave, glad to hear your knee is doing better!

Hopefully it will continue to heal & you can find more time to walk in the near future.

A 30 minute walk a day is great for anyone, whether you're a driver or not!

I walk 1 3/4 miles, in about 32 minutes 5 - 7 days a week. The benefits are awesome, whether trying to loose weight or just to be healthy. I have lost, to date, 38# and I feel great!!!

Man, I can feel your pain there.Just be careful not to tweak it, or you'll be right back @ square one.

Since my last replacement (operation #8:() where they put in a fake knee cap, I've tacked on like 25 lbs.:eek:The freaking thing swells up as soon as I get about 15 minutes on it. Makes walking a real PITA.The double clutching w/ it at training for the 4 weeks out on the course was like having a damn blow torch behind my knee cap 24/7. Thank God I'm done and can now float gears when possible.:D
