I know there is many gun enthusiasts here...........
What do you have in your cache??
I have several rifles and pistols. Most of my rifles have a family history to them and are more like heirlooms than anything?
Rifles include an Winchestor 300 Mag with the pre 64 action, with a Burris 3x9 scope. This rifle i won at a Rocky Mtn. Elk Foundation banquet several years ago. The stock is composite and both rifle and scope have the Rocky Mtn Elk Foundation insignia engraved on them.
30-06 Mauser that my Dad got from his brother in 1946. My uncle was able to bring the Mauser home from Europe at the end of the war, and my Dad had it "sporterized" with a Weaver KV4 scope and butt pad. My son Casey hunts with this rifle to this day and really likes the Mauser action. The gun still has its German Identification marks on it and of course all the numerical marks are in metric.
222-20 over under ranch rifle by Marlin. this is a great varmit/coyote gun and my Dad always said "if you can't get em with one you can get em with the other!
Winchester 22 mag 16 shot rifle. My Dad bought this one for my Mom in 1947 so she could learn to shoot. Dad said she got pretty good at blowing cans out of the air with it.
Winchester 30-30 My Dad bought this little rifle for my Mom in 1950 when she wanted to start hunting Antelope with him. She was always a good shot and hunted up until she lost most of her eyesight. My oldest daughter goes deer hunting with this rifle now.
Remington 12 gauge shotgun; this was a rifle my wifes Dad had and turned over to us several years ago.
Winchester Model 94 32-40 rifle; This rifle is one my Great Grandad bought in Minneapolis when he came here from Germany in 1897. He went to work for the Northern Pacific RR and worked on the railline as far as Miles City Montana and settled about 50 miles south of there. My Graddad, his sons, and my sister and I all learned to shoot with this rifle and I am very proud to have it with me to pass on to my sons someday. And yes, you can still put rounds thru it, though the action is getting sloppy; course if I was that age I would be getting pretty sloppy too....:D
Colt AR-15 My sons suprised me with this rifle for my birthday 2 years ago. they also bought enough ammo to blast up enough stumps and targets for quite awhile!
Pistols: I have several pistols in my collection including a S&W 44 Mag with 81/2 barrel (Dirty Harry), Colt 357 Troopers special, Colt 38 hammerless revolver (wifes purse pistol), Colt 22 semi auto with 9 shot clip, this was a pistol my Dad bought in 1950, and I have the original box, blue cloth it was wrapped in and the sales reciept from the Sporting Goods store in Miles City.
IAI 380 9mm Kurz semi auto; S&W 357 Highway Patrolman; Ruger 22 Cal Single Six in stainless steel.
The entire family enjoys shooting and having fun with these and it gives us some good family time together:D
