View Full Version : Call Me "Hop-Along"- For A While Anyway!

Yesterday I somehow pulled a muscle or tendon in my right foot (between my ankle & arch).
I put an Icy Hot tubular patch on it- didn't help a bit & neither did Motrin IB (Ibuprofen).
Getting my grocery shopping done today proved to be a challenge, but after Beanie suggested it I got an elastic ankle bandage to wear- that helped but I'm still not getting around too well.
Has anyone else had this kind of injury before? How long did it take to heal?

Today, I'm not doing as bad.
Little by little I'm healing up, as I feel a bit better today! I just need to refrain from exercising my legs for awhile, I guess!

hey beanie, stomp on his other foot so he'll have a matched pair! :bleh:
the only foot problem I've had was a sprained ankle where they had to operate. I was laid up for eight weeks! :yikes:

Glad you're feeling better Jeff.
I took a tumble Monday morning. I went into the back bathroom to gather laundry before Beetle left and slipped on the linoleum and landed on my left side. Being the stubborn person I am, I refused to go to the doc. So, all week I've been nursing some bruised ribs and lemme tell ya, it ain't no fun!!! If the pain had gotten worse instead of better like it has, I'd have gone to the ER.

What is it with people falling/injuring themselves lately?
First my sis-in-law caught her foot on the bike when her and my bro took advantage of the weather and went riding. THEN my stepmom did the same thing 2 days later when her and dad went riding. Unfortunately she hurt herself bad enough my sis ended up driving 2 hours to pick her up and take her home in a car. Then of course a day later I did my "backflip" off the truck!
I know its spring and accidents seem to happen a bit more often because everyone is so excited about the nicer weather, etc. But, please, take your time doing things. I know my fall was partly due to wet footing, but also I was overly tired. After what I've gone through in the past week, and what I'll be going through in the next 3 months, well, I wish that on no one.
PLEASE BE CAREFUL EVERYONE!!!

Well, there is more to mine than I told ya. Beetle, trying to be heplful had sprayed for some pests left by the former tenants and I didn't know it. It made the linoleum slick as all get out. When I went down it was like Olive Oil on roller skates! I'm still sore today but getting better, I hope. Beetle told me to stop doing so muuch and let our stuff just sit until I feel better. I sure hope everyone gets better and stops falling!!!

Well, if I'da landed on my azz I shoulda bounced real well. I didn't land on my azz though, I landed smack dab on the lower part of my back!
Now its trying not to fall again. And this walker I need just to maintain balance at the moment is a pita!

That sucks! Maybe you should just relax in the LazyBoy for a week and have Goofy take care of you for a while!

Marge, I didn't fall but you & Tricia are right- perhaps we should all be more careful.
I took my ankle wrap off for a couple of days and the pain came back shortly afterwards. I put it back on yesterday before Beanie & I went to eat dinner and I'm doing OK.

After about two weeks my foot is doing much better.
I think I will still hold off on running & biking for at least another week until it's had more time to heal.
