on this day of memory that this post should be made.
To be honest with you, I never knew there were words to the famous TAPS that gets played at military funerals. How I found out was when the Marines did my Dads funeral they handed me a card with the other items and it had the words.
So for anyone that may not know them I'd like to post the lyrics to help you remember those that have fallen.
Day is done,
gone the sun,
from the lakes
from the hills
from the sky,
all is well,
safely, rest,
God is near.
Fading light,
Dims the sight,
And a star gems in the sky
Gleaming bright,
From afar,
Drawing, near,
Falls the night.
Thanks and praise,
for our days,
Neath the sun
Neath the stars
Neath the sky,
As we go,
This we know,
God is near.
