Hi everyone, just happened to stumble across this site. Been looking new forums to join since I became "MIA Banned or Retired" from a certain other forum. Anyway I run a small clearing business and also run my own logging truck in eastern NC.
I have been "pondering" maybe switching things up and going OTR though. Im 30, single, and no kids. So I figure if I was to ever do it, now would be a good time. Anyway, just something I have been thinking about. No plans as of yet to give up whats payin the bills so far.

Thanks for the welcome! :) The OTR thing is something i have been considering for a while. My clearing business is like I said, small. Just 1 employee other than myself and he only works on an as needed basis. I started doing the clearing 3 years ago when the housing market was booming. But since the housing market tanked we now only do occasional residential clearing and some timber stand thinning jobs. Otherwise Im hauling logs. So the clearing business is nothing I am tied to. Im more concerned about giving up the logs. Even though I know I could come back to it later on. If I did go OTR I would probably buy a flatbed or step deck. Chaining, strapping, and tarping I don't think would bother me. It is a lot to consider. Like i said, its nothing i will be making a decision on anytime real soon.
