Got to the quarry for my last load of the day late Monday afternoon. Got loaded and scaled.

As I pull off the scale, I hear this over the CB...."Yellow belly dump pulling off the scale...you just had a tire 'fall off' your trailer." :wtf:

I look out the right side mirror just in time to see a tire flop down in the dirt/dust/sand at the end of the scale.

I pulled ahead, parked, got out and walked back. As I round the corner of the trailer, I see this.....

Since last Saturday, I have had 4 tires blow out. 3 on the trailer and on drive tire on the tractor. :wtf: The screwed up part about this is that I almost religiously check my tires every couple hours.

I am now on a first name basis with the jack, impact wrench and air hose. ;) Yes, I did do manual labor. :yikes: I can now change out a blown tire in 35 minutes or so. :D

This hot weather is murder on tires, ain't it.

I've noticed a lot more "Gators" on the road around here lately.

Your right! Hot weather, highway speeds, heavy loads and 3" rock!

If the 'gators' on the 30 mile stretch of I-80 that we've been running were real, it'd be more dangerous than the Everglades at meal time. ;)

Hey Dave ? is it my imagintion or was the inside tire flat too? It just looks like it's trying to pull away from the wheel in the photo.

No, it isn't your imagination. The inside tire is off the bead also. You can't see it in the picture, but the inside sidewall is shredded.

i was driving a snowplow truck last winter, and spun a wedge style wheel, since hub cracked ,both rims spun on the hub and ripped out both valvestems

both tires went flat while i was plowing at night and i never noticed until i stopped to turn around and got out for a minute and noticed the axle was on a big angle,

the sidewalls were chewed right out of both tires

had to call service truck to bring two new tires at 10 pm and then come back to shop and change cracked hub, at about midnight.

o the fun of snowplowing.
