From MSN News:
Keep your old clunker or buy a new car?
It may clang and bang, but your despised old car may be the best bargain around.

My '93 Chevy Z-71 pickup has 221,xxx miles on it and still runs like new and still gets decent gas mileage. Insurance costs me roughly $54 a month. Even if/when I have to buy a new motor and transmission for it, those will only cost about $3200 and a weekend of 'down time' since I can change them out with the help of my son.
Total monthly truck payment........ZERO $$$. :D

Only "new toy" I'd be buying....a tri-axle dump :terminator::terminator:.......That would set "Moms" heart on fire;);)....
The '95 Camry just got new rubber and right axle....and with 140k...still has twice that to go:cool::cool:.and at 30 mpg hwy........:D
The '02 Tacoma just turned 37k.......still a "virgin" If I can keep the 20 year old out of it...though Toyo wants to do a new recall.scratched ball joints:HMM:
Maintain,maintain,maintain........4th Camry with 100k plus and now that the Kids are not driving them..maybe I'll keep one ..they've totalled 2:fear:

94 Ford Exploder lol, has well over 160k on it But it still runs ok. Put new tires on it 4 years ago, and they hardly show any wear.
Have an electrailc problem some where. If it doesn;t run at all in 2-3 weeks battery is dead, have to jump it. Yet the battery and alternator or only 2 years old.
Looking for a drivers side insiode door panel Blue, with all the the electric door and windows buttons.
Need to get anti sway and leaf springs replaced.
And the winsheild has seen beeter days lol. But it still a decent 2nd vehicle.
On the o6 Chevy Colorado, just bough new shoes for it while in Idaho for the 4th. GM only puts factory tires good to about 30,000. Tires i got are garunteed to 50,000. $586.95 mounting and bal, out the the door.
Had expected to pay $ 800.00 + . Guess the old guy at Big O Tires in my home town remebrs my family. :) ThankS George.

If I didn't need a big 4X4 crew cab for pulling my camper to the beach I'd keep my '95 Silverado.
I'm giving the '95 to my Dad when I get my "new" pickup in just over two weeks. :D

My old clunker is a 1994 Ford Areostar XL mini van. 166,000 miles. It's
leaking tranny fluid:eek: The underneath is all starting to rot out due
to the liquid chiat they use on the roads up here. Maine has some real
strict state inspection laws. If you only got a $1000 cash to spend on a vecihle your not gonna get very much and chances are it's a rust bucket
that will not pass a state inspections.
