Well, the weekend started out normally, work on Saturday as usual.

Then about 1630, this completely restored 1966 Ford pickup rolls up in front of the shop.

The Ford had Connecticut license plates.

Out steps my old friend Richie, the guy who taught me all the proper ways of dump truck driving back when I was a teenager.

The "training truck" at that time was a 1949 Mack LJSW with a 220 Cummins and 5X2 twin stick transmission

Anyhow, Richie is 65 Y/O now, retired recently (after closing his dump truck business, he had worked for the past 28 years as a mechanic for a fleet of trucks) and he and his wife decided to go on a cross country trip with the old Ford, catching up with far flung friends and family along the way.

Richie and his wife Chris stayed at our place from Sat. night thru this morning, and it was just awesome to reflect and reminisce about things that went on 35 years ago!

Yesterday afternoon we took the classic Ford to the shop where I work and did some preventive maintenance to it.

Sat. night I cooked steaks on the grill, with onions french fries and baked beans, Sun. night we all finished the leftovers.

All in all, a totally awesome time!!!!!!
