I downloaded some music in MP3 format, and wish to convert it to CD-R format so I can burn it to an audio disc.

How can I do this? The file is stored in my hard drive as an MP3 file.

Thanks!

Most of the newer CD players will play the MP3's. If not, then you have to convert the files first and then burn them on the CD.

I use THIS (http://www.dbpoweramp.com/cdwriter.htm), it's free and real easy to work with. :D

Depending on the software you use, Most now if you select you are creating a audio CD will convert MPS's automatically. Like Nero and Roxio.

If you want to burn MP3's to a cd and your cd player will play mp3's burn them as a data cd.

when you convert the files they need to be converted to a .WAV file such as music.mp3 needs to be converted to music.wav if converted this way it will play on ANY CD play.

I agree! Besides, some of the music on those 8-Tracks was better anyway!

Hey Capt, it depends on where you downloaded them from. Many places, like Yahoo, make it so you cannot convert the MP3s you download from them to CD format. Yahoo has it so you can only put them on your computer. You can't even put it on an IPod!! Yahoo does that though, because it only charges $5 a month for music.

Dang, I think I'll just stick to listening to XM Radio & if I want a particular CD, I'll just buy it!

This downloading crap seems like a big hassle to me.
