Hanging out at the lake

This week, I was hauling topsoil to a lake re-grade project. The first part we dumped off the edge and they spread the dirt. The far side, there was no way to get our trucks back there , so they had to improvise............

We hauled the dirt in from off site and they loaded it into Cat 740D off road dumps. That is a 963 loading the 740, looks like a toy. He had to build a ramp to reach the bed.

C'mon, where's your sense of adventure? You coulda ran around the other side of the pond with your trailer dump.:thinking: Dumping without tipping over might be another story though!

Nothing got wrecked, but they did manage to bury one of the 740's.:doh:
The boss told them, don't run down by the lake, stay up high and dump down the bank. But no, the D3 operator backs one right along the water and it sank, with a major down hill list to the driver side. They between the other 740 cabled to it and the 160 hoe holding it upright, they got it dumped and pulled out.

I don't know about those operators. We truck drivers would never do anything stupid like that.:whistling:[smilie=to funny.gi:
