The title says it all.
5th signal command of the 7th Army broadcast the AFN to the forces (and anyone else who cares to listen) over most of Southern Germany.
These guys help keep me sane, and up to date with football scores while on the road.

A big thank you for your shows, and your hard work.

When I was stationed over in Germany from '83-'87, AFN did a pretty good job of keeping me entertained with music and news.

Back then, V Corps (5th Corps, in Northern Germany) and VII (7th Corps, in Southern Germany) were there. Unfortunately, VII Corps is no longer an 'active' Corps in the US Army. :( The VII Army (7th Army, US Army Europe), does a bang up job keeping troops entertained and up to date on the news.

Two thumbs up to them!

When I was in Germany from 1962-65, AFN only broadcast around the big cities. Since I was nowhere near one, I couldn't pick it up.

We could pick up Radio Luxemburg every now and then and they broadcast in english. Other than that, we had to read the Stars and Stripes to find out what was going on in the world.
