Brought her home, cleaned her (the wife says that I was petting her  ), and mounted the scope I bought for her a couple weeks ago. Now, to get a decent afternoon to sight her in. ;)

Thanks Max and Dave! Dave, I haven't tried her with the stock folded yet. I really should though. I really do like how she 'runs'.:devil[1]:
Oh, since the election, I prefer the 'PC' term........a 'rifle of color'.

Mine's a Yugoslavian SKS M59/66 with a 'spike' bayonet (extended for the pic), and grenade launcher. The scope mount is a 'see through' one that allows me to use the factory irons sights if I want. The sight for the grenade launcher is directly behind the front sight and extends back to the gas tube. There's a valve (see the round 'button at the forward end of the gas tube?), that must be turned to 'unlock' the launcher sight to stand it up for use.

The grenade fits down over the muzzle (much like the rifle launched grenades you see in 'war movies' from WWII), and blank ammunition is used to launch the grenade.

To resume 'normal' operation of firing bullets semi automatically, the sight must be lowered and the gas valve turned. Then gases from fired bullets cycle the bolt as needed.

When I get the chance to, I'm going to remove the grenade launcher and sight, and install a muzzle brake from kingarmory.com. I could go 'cheaper' and buy a brake from Tapco, but I don't like the looks of theirs.

Oh, the SKS was originally made in Russia and was the standard Russian Infantry rifle until it was replaced by the AK-47. SKS's are/were made by Russia, Yugoslavia, Albania, Romania, China and North Korea to name a few countries.

Stuff that Dave, it's black, and black is cool, and that rifle is so cool your hands look like they got frostbite holding it. I can see the goosepimples!:36_21_1[1]::angle1:
