The Change to Win Coalition, which includes the Teamsters, Service Employees International Union, United Food and Commercial Workers Union, and Unite Here have announced that they will not be participating in the AFL-CIO convention.
The Laborers and Farm Workers unions will attend the convention.
The Carpenters Union does not belong to the AFL-CIO.
In addition, 11 representatives of unions in the Change to Win Coalition announced that they will not run for seats on the AFL-CIO Executive Council, nor serve if elected.
The AFL-CIO has lost touch with the Union worker and has not expanded on how to bring new organizing to the many jobs that are or could be organized to bring health and welfare benefits to many workers in our country.
