How do you ladies deal with obnoxious males on the CB? I usually let them run their mouth and just ignore them. Until they reach that point where I just can't do that any more. Then I tell tell them to please lose the "trashy language". This will make them more agressive. Then they use even trashier language. At this point I start talking over them and won't allow them to finish a sentence. Then I tell them, " Hey little boy! Go on back to the sandbox and leave the trucking to the grownups." The term "little boy" will make them very angry. When they are truly angry I ask them where their Mama is. When they want to know why I want to know where she is I tell them, " So I can slap her silly for not teaching her youngun better manners!" By that time some one who knows me hears me and will start a conversation and I leave Sesame Street so as to keep the channel clear for the other truckers, who are usually laffin at that lil boy that got dressed down by the lady on the CB.....lol

When I used to run team with my now ex-girlfriend years ago, she never said much on the radio unless we were running with another driver from the same company or someone else we knew. She was good about going to a channel other than 19 out of consideration for others.

She would listen in on 19, but unfortunately she could hardly say anything without some low-life POS giving her a hard time. Even when she'd flat-out ignore them for 30 minutes, they still persisted!

Agreed. I rarely have my CB on, except at a shipper that uses them, or if there's a traffic jam so I can ascertain which lane to be in.

The absolute worst thing you can do is reply to the nonsense.

Oh, I disagree!
Sometimes, the BEST thing you can do is ENGAGE them. This works really well if you have a radio that you can change the power settings and sound effects and can do multiple voices.
The other night, I was switching between three different voices and stirring up so much spite, hatred and discontent that people were getting pretty upset.
Just the thing you need at 2am, getting so worked up that you couldn't hope to doze off behind the wheel and crash.

See, there IS a method to my madness! :chase:

You got me laffin my butt off Unc! I had one guy make me real mad one night by being a total azz on the radio. I finally told him where he could go and what he could do when he got there. Of course I never curse on the radio but I got my point across. I was sitting there fuming because I had let him get next to me when he came back on the radio. "Foxfire?" I asked him what he wanted now. He said he was lonesome and missed his wife and I had made him feel at home and he wanted to thank me......lol We had a nice conversation after that.....lol

Hum Fox, that must have been my ex. He really missed me when he was OTR driver. But now he can't stand me.
I normally would turn the radio off when the lil boys would start with their potty mouths. But sometimes it can be funny just to listen to them back and forth.
My Mom was the worlds worst for bothering lot lizards.. Thanks for the laughs. :harhar: [/b]

Sounds like my house. ;) After 3 or 4 days out, my wife can't wait for me to get home. Once I'm home, she can't wait for me to LEAVE! It's probably kept my marriage together! :bop:

I do one thing now and again to shut them or at least change subjects

If one of the many engaged in the potty mouth verbal nonsense I get that ones attention that has the crappiest sounding radio. I ask him to recite the Mary had a l ittle lamb or just the months of the year.

They always ask why?

I simply tell them in a slight lisp voice that his radio and voice gives me an erection.

This simply blows their mind and of course the subject is immediately changes to the homo. How they will kick my butt and all the other garbage.
I thank them and tell them to continue to yak as I don't get them much anymore and I feel a lot better now. You hair legged truckers sure know how to please a man don't you.?????

Now back to our regularly scheduled programing on channel 19, sponsored by Pee Jugs International and Cobra radios.

Depends on my mood...lol :D Sometimes, like ff, I'll 'fight' back.....sometimes I keep silent...sometimes I remind everyone CB is public and gentlemen drivers with kids and wives don't like this bs.... and neither do the lady drivers. Often some gentlement will rise to that and put the potty mouth in their place....

I don't like the roar and static of CB... But wouldn't want to drive w/o one.
I use it to announce unusual road hazards to other drivers, get directional info..... have found it helpful in finding place to stop n park at truck stops or rest areas: I turn it on when backing....cause should something start happening in the path of my backing...another driver may be able to raise alarm. In hazardous conditions (snow, ice, rain, fog, mountains, bumper to bumper traffic, bad weather, detours) I keep it tuned low....to hear any reports which may help me anticipate problems, lane changes , or other wise.

Have been known to talk a while (usually on another channel) to help stay awake...during the mid to last of the nite..... Sometimes an intruder on the channel will try to pick a verbally vulgar fight.. After I warn then that they held in their mouth what I would not hold in my hands, Often a chorus of gents will chime in to 'take the little lady's side. lol....I get spoiled by unseen strangers :classic:

The foul mouths usually ignore.
