Great story -- I have taught both my children how to fish and am now working on my grandkids. The time I spent on the water with them has made so many memories both for me and for them.

Awesome story BC! Made my eyes tear up a little.

I never was one to fish. Never had the patience for it. :wtf:

I remember back when I was around 11 or 12. My grandfather had passed away around Easter time. Later that spring, my dad took me fishing with him. He tried to explain the 'finer points' of fishing with his father, but I never 'got it'.

There are times now, that I wish I had.

Thanks for sharing the story.

I thought it was pretty good too. Especially since I know the area he was talking about.

I'm not a fish person either. I went out a couple of times when I was a kid, but didn't enjoy it at all. Daughter went out this past Sunday with Dad and caught her first fish. She loves it. Of course of couple of weeks before that she managed to throw her new reel into the water and so far out they couldn't fish it out!

Shame of it all is that our area IS becoming overdeveloped and places that you could just walk in the woods are now restricted. That is if you can find some woods nearby anymore.
