This was another project completed this week at the shop.

It was not my project, it was done by Rich, one of the other mechanics.

Rich completely stripped the whole trailer down, all air lines, wiring and planks were removed, trailer & gooseneck completely sandblasted & painted, then reassembled with new Apitong planks, complete brake job & wheel seals.

Looks & works like brand new, it hauled it's first machine today.

Congrats to Rich for a job well done!!!!!

Geez......All that work and you guys go and get it dirty. :p

Looks pretty sharp! You guys do some good looking work. A lot more 'indepth' than a lot of excavating / construction companies do.

I notice the airride isn't dropped/lowered in the pic. Is this an oversight or SOP?

We don't dump the air ride on the trailer when unhooking, loading or unloading.

That particular trailer does have a liftable rearmost axle which was down when the photo was taken.

The tractor is air ride, and one of the tricks with that is when you unhook, you let the gooseneck down, then put the stinger down til it hits the tractor frame, then put a little extra pressure on the stinger. When you pull the tractor & gooseneck away from the trailer, the gooseneck is then high enough so it doesn't drag. Then when re hooking you dump the tractor air ride just as you're backing the gooseneck into the trailer to reconnect, that lets the gooseneck drop a little just as it slides onto the pins.

Thats a pita when the neck drags and you gotta get out to raise it on a non air bag tractor, other than that I like the TK trailers
