What would you do.
Came across this letter in my local paper/ website
A guy whining because someone left a note on his car, which had a dog left inside , on a warm day, with the windows down.

EDITOR:
Today my wife and I visited Walmart. We left our Jack Russsell terrier in the car, with all four windows at least half to three quarters open. He also had a bowl of water from which to drink. Our car is a Hummer H-1 with a light-colored convertible top.
Now, to my point. A very kind, thoughtful and know-it-all kind of person left a note on our windshield that our dog should not be left in the car. “It is too hot” the note said. This person does not know what he (she?) is talking about. Yes, it’s a warm day (80-85 degrees). But, with the open windows, bowl of water and light colored cartop reflecting the sun’s rays, our dog had no problem.
The last thing I would do is place my dog in harm’s way. The real issue here may be that my car is a diesel-guzzling Hummer and has a “right wing extremist” bumper sticker on it. That alone would be enough to set off any left wing type. But, I’ll never know for sure as the person didn’t sign the note or leave a contact number.
Oh, by the way. When I parked, there was a car in the adjacent space that had a Labrador Retriever sitting in it. The car and dog were still there when we returned to our car, and guess what? That car had no note on the windshield. Wonder why?
Anyway, the danger here is that this person may be writing a similar letter to the editor, explaining the danger of leaving animals in hot cars etc. etc. There ought to be laws, he’ll say. What I say is that people should use common sense when approaching a situation like this. I almost wish that he had called the police or animal control. I’m sure that either of these two agencies would have evaluated the situation, realized that the temperature in the car was moderately warm, and, hopefully informed the busybody of this fact.
Thanks for letting me blow off some steam.

Now my ? is, Why would he take the chance of leaving pet in the car, with windows down, and hoped to God no one reached in and stoled the dog.
Had some one really wanted, they could of dognapped the dog, then the stupid arse would be writing a letter complianing his dog was stolen while the windows were down, as he was inside shopping?
Here is what i'm considering writing in response,,
Editor,
I read with disbelief that some one had the nerve to write and complain that someone had left a note on their car, regarding leaving a pet in their car while they were in side shopping at a business
I wonder of the mentality of people, who thinks it’s ok to leave pets in cars on warm days. I would like to see them wear a fur coat and sit in a car with the windows partly rolled down, and one small bottle of water. I bet they wouldn’t last to long.
The only difference between a human wearing a fur coat on a warm day and a dog , cat or any other fur wearing animal, is that the human can reach over and open the door and get out. I have yet to witness any other animal do this.
Even with the windows partly rolled down, the temperature will still rise, and do to the fabric inside soaking up the heat. DOH! It doesn’t matter if it was a soft or hard top.
What I’m wondering, well actually a couple of things.
If your able to afford a Hummer, why couldn’t you leave the dog at the boarders, or some one in your party could of stayed in the vehicle with the AC. Running? Or even this brilliant idea,, LEAVE THE DOG HOME, when you go shopping on a warm day.
Another thing, you mentioned that you left the windows down, So what was stopping anybody to reach in, open the door, and dognap your precious Jack Terrier Russell? Not a thing. And had someone done exactly that, you would be writing to this open forum, Whining because some one had stolen your dog from your car, because you had left the windows down in the first place, so it wouldn’t over heat. You have no common sense.
Next time, Leave the dog home, and then you won't waste our time with your senesless whining.
