Hope to have a new toy by Friday night! :hi5[1]:

Negotiations are currently in the works for one of these....... :36_6_4[1]:

http://www.dpmsinc.com/firearms/firearm.aspx?id=14

He put a 'sold' tag on it for me and will take my NIB Browning BPS in partial trade WITHOUT beating me up on the trade-in. http://www.mausercentral.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_cool.gif

He put together a 'package deal' with a Leupold 4x14 scope, riser, scope rings & bi-pod for it. http://www.mausercentral.com/forum/images/smiles/thumbsup.gif

And since I ain't tellin' the ol' lady, rest assured that I will be in 'the doghouse' as soon as she finds out. http://www.mausercentral.com/forum/images/smiles/imstupid.gif

Oh Dave! Very nice new toy but when we haven't heard from you in a few weeks, we'll send out a search party for ya. If Marc did that and didn't let me know, it'd be war!!! Good luck...........:lmao[1]:

Actually, gluten can be quite punishing, if you have celiac disease.

Dammit! I got busted by the wife :yikes: :36_1_7[1]:, but she isn't pissed. :wtf:

Needless to say, when I got home from work today, I needed to get up to the gun shop immediately because they were gonna close in 30 minutes. She just 'had to' ride along. :wtf: "No hiding it now!", I thought.

I reminded her that I had cashed in 2 weeks vacation back in Feb. and gave the cash to her to use as she saw fit (she had asked if I would do that). She did.

I agreed to do it on the condition that I could buy a gun of my choice and she agreed to that too (that's what I was gonna use my vacation money for).

Anyways, I couldn't free up enough cash by tonight to bring it home with me, but they got the Browning BPS (trade-in value $450), and $500 cash as a down payment.

Here's the breakdown:

1 DPMS 'Panther Arms' LR-308 $999.99 (MSRP $1,169.00 for the bare bones rifle)
1 Leupold 4x14x40 'Varminter Scope' $399.99 ($150 off, was $549.99)
1 'Riser' $39.99 ($10 off, was $49.99)
1 set Weaver Scope Mounts $19.99 ($10 off, was $29.99)

So.....
$999.99 (rifle)
$399.99 (scope)
$ 39.99 (Riser)
$ 19.99 (scope mounts)
$1456.96 + tax (whatever that is, but should be around $35)
- 950.00 (down payment)
$ 509.96 + tax left to pay on it by Aug. 1st.

Savings of $170 (not counting the actual price of the rifle compared to MSRP). :cheers:

Well, happy to hear that we won't need to send out that search party for ya! See, men typically forget that women are very unpredictable and will almost always respond the opposite of what you are expecting.......hope you get that new gun soon so I can hear all about how it fires....
