Friday before leaving work, I checked the schedule. It said, "Monday
6 am (leave shop time)
158 (trailer #)
b/t (asphalt)
Jeffers to Springfield"

No problem! Hauling 'black gold' (asphalt) to the Springfield airport will pay the 'big bucks' (prevailing wage).:1hi5:

Yesterday, the bossman calls me 3 times. :wtf:

Call 1, 11:50 am: "Dave, just checking to see if you know what you're doing Monday since I didn't see you before you left work last night." We discussed it and we're both on the same sheet of music.

Call 2, 12:30 pm: "Um Dave.........you're gonna be hauling gravel from Alpha MN to Fairmont MN. Seems that someone decided to land an airplane on the closed runway, in the wet concrete they just poured early today at the Springfield airport and they can't move the plane until they get clearance from the FAA." :wow: :wtf:

Call 3, 1:13 pm: "Dave, they got clearance to move the plane, you're back to hauling asphalt. Have a good weekend."

Tomorrow I'll see if I can get a picture or two of the mess and maybe the plane.

If the plane landed in wet concrete, wouldn't ya think they'd want to get it out of there ASAP, before it becomes a permanent part of the runway?

Oh, that's right, that would take common sense, and they're dealing with a government agency there.

Well, at least they got it moved and you're back on the prevailing wage job.

You'd think that would be the best thing.......move it right away. But since it's considered an 'airplane accident' and the FAA got involved, well................. :asking::explain:

glad my work plans never change that much.
the only thing is some days i gotta start earlier and some days work later, but they always tell me the day before if i have to start early.

sometimes i even get to haul gravel with dumptrucks, which is a nice change.
but normally on concrete delivery.
