Last night, Midvale PD (Utah) POLICE K-9 KODA was shot and killed while chasing home burglary suspects during a foot pursuit. KODA gave his life to save that of his handler and at least one other officer. The suspect had fired several shots after given commands to show his hands, forcing the officers to return fire. Th...e shooter is now deceased. One other suspect is in custody. Our thoughts and prayers go out to KODA and his handler and the entire Midvale PD. MAY YOU REST IN PEACE KODA KNOWING YOU DIED A HERO.

Law Enforcement Today (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Law-Enforcement-Today/181135410243?ref=nf) I know there are many rulings on OIS but I felt this one had special meaning and I wanted to update the story: MIDVALE UTAH POLICE OFFICER BRIAN TODD & COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS POLICE OFFICER CHRIS McHUGH FOUND TO BE JUSTIFIED IN THE FATAL SHOOTING OF SUSPECT WHO SHOT AND KILLED MIDVALE K-9 OFFICER KODA. On Jan. 1st of this ......year, Officers chased and cornered three burglary suspects. Ofc. Todd sent in his partner K-9 Ofc. KODA who was shot and killed while trying to keep his partner and other officers from being shot. The suspect continued to come after the Officers waving his gun. Suspect was shot in head.
