I bagged work today.I was supposed to go to Newburgh NY for 6am but snow was already drifting bad here,a check of the roads showed 80,81,380 in PA had a no truck restriction and 78 didn't look to promising. At last count 10 of us had called off.Since there wasn't much left to do at 1am,three of us drivers decided to head to Jennies for breakfast. When we got there the place was empty except for one lone customer sitting at the counter....................................our plant manager!!!! Luckily DTX trusts our drivers judgements one weather but I still bought him breakfast to be on the safe side!

Mondays run............................who knows??

Currently in Mathews MO.

Headed to Sioux City IA and swapped wagons with another driver. The load he took is going to Erie CO and the load I got from him is going to Memphis TN.

That's messed up.

They tried to get me to repower a load to Vaudreil, QC for a driver that supposedly couldn't go to Canada. I told them "It's too close to my time off for one thing; also, this driver WILL NOT go to Quebec!".

I'm headed to Ludington, MI tomorrow for a delivery on Monday morning.

VERN at Billy Bob's Chicken Express tried to call you last night- he wants to make sure you and your truck are ready for THE REDNECK 500!

VERN will do a lease-purchase on the following package just for you!

First, he wants to remove the muffler from underneath and then put on a big ol' 10" CHROME STACK behind your sleeper so you can 'sound cool' when you hit your Jake Brakes in the truck stop parking lot at 2:30 in the morning!

Then he wants to put in a BIG RADIO with an echo board and 2,000-watt Linear Amplifier so you can communicate with the chicken haulers out there on I-40!

Let's not forget about putting 10,000 CHICKEN LIGHTS all over your Columbia! If he's smart he might put LEDs on so you won't need a second alternator and two more batteries! :bleh:

Oh, and one last thing- just so you fit in with the NASCAR wannabes out there on I-285 in Atlanta while you're doing THE REDNECK 500 he will remove the glass window from your drivers side door and put in a WINDOW NET!

He says that once he's done this for you, you will be ready to GIT'R DUN!

(He forgot to mention that he wants to teach you how to talk with a southern accent too! :bleh:)

:Trucker:

Oh, where am I going???

I'm reloading in Walkerville, MI today and then delivering in Marshall, MO on Wednesday the 3rd as I work my way toward San Antonio for a week off.

BB, if you have one and never had one before you'd love it to. They are the nicest thing to have. It's great because I can have a real fridge in my truck along with some other things because the tri-pack supports them.

Back to topic I am not sure where I am headed yet. I may go to Hamilton, TX to see some friends and then again I may go back to work. Decisions, decisions, decisions and none of them are the right decision.

Amen to that! They're WAY more comfortable than idling, and they're plumbed into the truck's cooling system so the engine is kept warm. I have slept SOOOOO much better since I got one, and it shows as my miles have gone up.

Oh and there's NOTHING like making your neighbors jealous of the smell of food cooking coming from YOUR truck!

Dropped my load in Mankato around 1:30. Made my 'empty call' and dispatch wanted me to run the trailer over to Owatonna MN and drop it at one of our customers lots.

I told 'em that the trailer needed some work done on it (air leak).

Dispatch told me to bring it to the yard. :hi5[1]:

I'm home now, enjoying a tall cold glass of Red Stag. :hi5[1]:

Gonna jump in the shower in a few minutes (after I finish my drink :D ), then hopefully by then, the wife will have called so I can pick her up from work, stop by the grocery store, grab a couple steaks and fire up the grill. :36_1_72[1]:

Its been sunny and just above freezing here all week, so no work for me!
I have been helping my dad rebuild a case 1070 tractor engine, just got it running yesterday, almost a complete rebuild, all new bearings, pistons, sleeves, head and valves redone. This engine has ran for about 35 years with 4000+ hours on it,actually it could be 14 000 hours, i might not sure. and this is the first major engine work we have done!
We have two of these tractors, which were built in the mid 70's and they are both still running good and still working hard.
We are even running a couple tractors from the mid 60's still, and they also run good!
We also have a 1953 ford tractor, it does run, but too small for anything, so it does not get used, it really needs a restoration.

Then today i was helping dad rewire a house we totally gutted and are renovating, its been a huge job. But dad and my brother and me have done almost all the work, so at least we are not paying any labour.
all thats left is wiring, plumbing, drywalling and installing kitchen and bathrooms and flooring.
Everything except structure is brand new.
