Old Man
I stopped to offer a ride to an old man woman walking down the street.
It was apparent he was tired as he opened the door and took
a seat.
With a quivering voice coming from an unshaved face,
the man said; "Thanks for your kindness, I've come from a
distant place."
A shoe without lace, a coat showing wear and tear,
I asked; "Where ya headed?" He replied; "Oh just here and
there."
It wasn't long when he spoke and said; "If you don't mind,
I'll get out up ahead."
"By the way;" "My name is Old man, and I really appreciate
the ride Nan."
Before I could ask him how he knew my name,
he disappeared in to the fog and falling rain.
I don't know whether Old Man was real or a figment of
my imagination.
But there is no doubt, that along his route, he made a difference
in my soul's destination.
