From the link:
Under the 2003 HOS: Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) drivers using a sleeper berth must take 10 hours off duty, but may split sleeper-berth time into two periods provided neither is less than 2 hours.
New HOS Effective October 1, 2005: CMV drivers using the sleeper berth provision must take at least 8 consecutive hours in the sleeper berth, plus 2 consecutive hours either in the sleeper berth, off duty, or any combination of the two.
This is the only major change that I can see for OTR drivers.

the thing I don't understand is whats the big deal if I hit my bunk and take a 4 hour nap while I am waiting to be loaded.........and I can't use this as sleeper berth time??..... I don't know many truckdrivers that sleep 8 to 10 hours at a time.......... I know I try to stay out of the citys during rush hours.......them 4wheelers are trying to get to work or home........ now this will funk that plan up too...... We are a moving, on the go, get er done trade and they think this is for our safety.......... This is NOT a normal 8-5 job with a regular go home after a 8or 10 hour shift.......... guess I'm just nieve.........cb
