hey, Newbe here. Really like your site. My question is, I am sixty years old good health, excellent driving record. I have a CDL which was required by the DOT and the company I spent thirty years with. Have driven large trucks but never a simi. I am wanting to go back to work and am wanting to apply for a drivers job with a trucking Co. I notice the minium age on the sites but none mentions a cut off age.

Do you think a company would hire an older driver for simi training or am I just waisting my time? Thanks guys any help is appreciated. Jim

A lot of companies will hire people your age in a heartbeat, as long as you can pass a DOT Physical and have a decent driving record.

Take some time and research different companies to see what they offer.

Make sure to check out our Archives for some advice on things to ask prospective employers about.

Oh, and Welcome aboard. :)

THanks for the info Dave. I do have a 30 year safe driving record and recently had a good physical so a DOT physical doesn't seem to be a prob.
I found this site and have really enjoyed the info as well as the banter that goes on. Keep up the good work. Jim
