We know we have to look out of them all day long, and being able to do so will make driving a lot safer for you & everyone you share the road with!

When driving at night, a dirty windshield will tire out your eyes in no time. We know what happens when people get tired at the wheel, right?

When headed west in the morning and the sun is coming up behind you, dirty mirrors will create an annoying glare, not to mention that you won't be able to monitor the space around your truck as safely as you need to, and the possibility of an accident is greatly increased.

Immediately after driving through a rain storm, it's always a good idea to find a safe place to park and clean up those windows & mirrors.

Be safe out there, folks!

Whenever I would stop ( fuel, eat, break) I would get the windex out and clean my windows and mirrors, then I took the wet paper towels from the window and wiped off all my lights and turn signals. I know some will say you can see something as big as a truck, but in bad weather that trailer blends in pretty good so you want those lights as bright as possible.

Good posts and good tips.

One thing I would add is to use automotive grade window cleaner. Sometimes the house window cleaners are a bit too mild to clean the road grime. I use a product from Gunk. You can get it in automotive parts stores.

I used to buy a can or bottle of uncooled Coca-cola and pur it over the windsheilds then wash them off with the water hose on the fuel aisle. Nothing cleans road grime like Coke!

The best stuff I found that will eat away bugs is sold at the Petro fuel islands.

It's Petro glass cleaner in an aerosol can. Spray it on, and you can even watch from inside your cab as it eats away at the bugs on your windshield in no time! Great stuff!

Foxfire, no offense, but have you ever seen what Coke does to paint?

Sure have Jeff. That's why I always had the water hose ready to wash it off as soon as I poured it on. I never had paint damage.
