Find load agree to rate good rate load is close by go to shipper, then the fun begins. What I'm picking up amounts to cut up trucks no biggie until they bring out the engines loosely banded onto beat up old pallets with pieces of wood wedged in to "hold everything together" I say no way is that going on my trailer to which the oft used reply "other drivers don't mind" I says good let the other drivers haul it what else ya got? they give me three cabs two cut offs 4 or 5 axles and a box of clutches no biggie.
While I'm strapping and chaining the "other driver" shows up he says "you the guy won't haul the engines?" I say yep, they're over there He walks over takes one look and pronounces "I ain't hauling them engines like that!" :rofl:
It turns out they used to lay the engines in old tires but at the customer request they started "palletizing them" The "other driver" left empty as I was finishing with the straps and chains :cool:
