I was asked to post this on this forum.
I have also posted it on the drivers forum.
We need to make sure this dog is removed from this drivers possesion.
CALL CRETE, make your displeasure known to Crete. Demand action
I have sent a copy of my letter ( below) to PETA and to the Nebraska Humane Society.

I witnessed a Crete Carrier Corp driver in truck 28878 trl 216648 beat his dog unnecessarily at the Flying J truck stop in Lodi Ca (Stockton) at the exit of
Highways 12 and I-5.
This was on 9-16-05 at about 5:15 pm central time on Friday.
He parked 2 slots away from me. He exited his truck and went in to the building.
His black and white dog jumped into the drivers seat to watch this man walk away.
The dog then got down. Every 3 or 4 minutes he would get backup and look for the driver.
He was up looking when the driver returned. The dog seemed happy as his tail was going 60-40 in a happy to see you manner.
The driver entered his truck and immediately after closing the door, He took what looked like a wooden stick from the sun visor area and proceeds to beat the dog severely.
This was uncalled for as I saw the dog do nothing wrong.
He did not stop there; he proceeded to hit the dog again repeatedly. Then once more as he leaned towards the bunk area and beat the dog again. This is 3 times in about 1 minute.
With this stick in easy reach I believe he does this on a regular basis for him to have this stick handy
I saw nothing to warrant this treatment to the dog. If the dog had made a mess then the driver would have cleaned it up prior to leaving. I would certainly hope.
This driver should not be allowed to own or even be near a dog or cat.
His treatment of this animal is inhumane treatment and unwarranted.
I had a very hard time containing myself from going to his truck and giving him some of the same treatment he gave the dog.
At the request of Cassandra (spl) in Lincoln Ne. I called the Lodi police dept. They in turn routed me to the local sheriffs dept.
I talked to the sheriff’s dept and filed a report.
They informed me that they would call Crete Carriers at the number I gave them.
Thank you for looking into this matter and correcting it.
I am anxiously waiting your response on this matter.
