Seems to me to be a lack of communication between the departments. I may have done the same thing if I was not informed that plainclothed Officers were in the area. :noclue:
A 10 minute meeting between the two departments could have saved his life. :secret:
I know when I first got here they had me meet our Vice (plainclothed Narcotics Officers) and our Detectives (the ones that wear a shirt and tie everyday) as to not have an incedent like this happen.
Sad day for sure. :crying:

Part of my jurisiction is in a college town with NYS University police. Whenever they are working under cover on or off campus we know about it. It just makes sense to let all agencies with in your area know when a officer is UC. Sad for both agencies. My prayers go out to BOTH families involved.

I see several mistakes there, :thinking: but none of that will undo any of it.
