If you're between 18- 25 years old and don't mind working your way up into a good-paying driving job with awesome benefits, here's something to take into consideration:
A few companies out there, like U.P.S., The Sygma Network, and FedEx, like to hire young energetic, & hard-working individuals & give them an opportunity to get acquainted & used to their operating environment before eventually getting trained to drive a truck at the company's expense.
You might be asked to start working on the dock loading & unloading trucks, and/or as an order selector (depending on where you work).
After a year or two, you may be promoted & trained as a delivery van driver (referred to as a "Package Car Driver" by U.P.S.). It's good physical work, and it gives you a chance to interact with more people.
Depending largely on promotions withn the company, and/or the number of people that may retire at any year, you may soon have the chance to be trained & promoted to a truck driving position. This, in many cases, may involve night time shuttle work but it pays well and is usually less stressful than other positions previously worked.
The sky is the limit. How hard you work & demonstrate professionalism will determine how high you go!
