Anyone try the Lucas’ brand of additives?

Truckpro had the fuel additive on sale last week so I tried it out. No noticeable change to speak of, other than running 100-200 rpm lower @ 65 mph on the fuel with the Lucas added.

Just a coincidence or what?

I used Lucas in our 4 wheelers...

It really helped my '84 Cougar to run smoother when we had it.
It has also worked well in our vans....

can't say how it would work in a truck...sorry.

It is the best stuff out there...have ran it 5 years now....in engine, trans, rears. Also use the hub oil stuff&they run noticeably cooler. little spendy but i do belive it pays for itself. be safe, Dennis

So Dennis, you are running the fuel additive? If so, every tank of fuel or just every now and then?

Thanks!

Funny thing........I haul a lot of Lucas products, but the only thing I use of theirs is the 5th wheel lube. :wow:

I'm a firm believer in the fact that oil companies spent billions of $$$ testing and marketing motor oils, so they gotta be good......right? Why would I need additives?

In the winter, I do use the hell outta Howes fuel conditioner / anti-gel in my fuel. Haven't had a problem with gelling since.

I rarely run blended diesel in winter. Usually straight #2 diesel with a jug of Howes. If I'm going to be home for more than 2-3 days, then I'll splash in some blended diesel.

I advise against the use of Lucas Oil Stabilizer.

Here's a link about Lucas Oil Stabilizer that will likely convince you to quit using it:

Oil is a delicate balance of chemicals that's best left alone.

I wasn't considering adding anything to the oil. I'd hope for what it cost, it'd have everything in there that it needs. :) :) :) :)

No kidding! $9.99 + tax (or more), per gallon at a truck stop! :yikes: :yikes: :yikes:

$6.37 per gallon at Wal*Mart.

I usually grab 3 gallons each visit. :whistling:

(yes, I'm kind of a hypocrit) :harhar:

HSLD, I do from time to time and you will see a MPG increase. I'm just speaking from experience on my own truck but it really seems to work.

I , like Dave use the Lucas 5th wheel lube. but I use Lucas oil treatment and Howes fuel additive, Howes Meaner Cleaner.
This Meaner Cleaner works for me. I notice a difference in the smoothness of the engine . I use it about every 3rd or 4th tank of fuel. I use Howes fuel conditioner all year long as it help to prevent bacteria from growing and it helps to disperse water. since I have been using it I have never had to change fuel filters between oil changes.

i use the red molly grease for my fifth wheel and to lube the drive shaft and brake fittings and well i use the lucuse anti gel deisel additives

I use it about every 3rd or 4th tank of fuel.

Well, that's kind of what I was considering doing. Maybe one fuel refill a month, add the Lucas to it.
