To many peoples suprise the #1 killer amongst Police are not guns but vehicles. Chases are very dangerous for both parties and the general public. I hope they catch the basturd.

I have been a few chases (not nearly as many as CP or MR) and they will get you going. You get your adrenaline up so high you start shaking uncontrolably.

Don't get me wrong they are kinda fun, but just real dangerous.

I pray for the Officers family.

I pray for his family....Chases are too dangerous. I remember when I was young I loved to get involved in a chase. The faster, the better. I have seen the error in my thinking and wonder why more of us were not killed years ago when chases were normal for anything.

We just had a trial concluded here where a trooper was killed during a chase after he lost control of his camero on Interstate 4 chasing a motorcycle. The operator of the cycle was apprehended and was subsequently convicted in court for the death.

My agency has policy that restricts vehicle chases so that only certain CRIMINAL violations are authorized for a pursuit. The liability is just to high for us to chase traffic violations. We will however set up stop sticks and follow them with an airship.

You guys be safe.
