Once again I wonder. Why is this news? Probably the worst president in the last 100 years. He should just shut up. He can't possibly believe he has any credibility. What would he know about foreign policy?

He is the only US President who has been awarded a Nobel Peace Prize and he is widely respected for his actions since leaving the White House. What should concern you all at this time is that the current occupant of the Oval Office may very well become the worst POTUS since Herbert Hoover.
Most presidents get their historical evaluation after they are dead and it can change. This is why Harry Truman was underrated during his term and it now looks increasingly that Ronald Reagan was overrated. Another one who was somewhat underrated was D.D. Eisenhower, who was a much better politician than was suspected at the time.
It is hard to see how GWB will improve much, given the enormous incompetence he has presided over. Obviously, you can sustain a presidency for quite some time with a slick PR operation, but eventually it comes apart and the dismal reality prevails and credibility lost is seldom regained.

He's probably also the only US President that lobbied for it. Besides, you are wrong . Teddy Roosevelt was awarded the Prize in 1906.
You can try and spin it all you want. Jimmy Carter is the worst President in the last 100 years. Sucked domestically, sucked in foreign policy. He has NO place critiqueing another Presidents foreign policy. He knows nothing of the subject.
Besides, who wants to win an award that has been given to dirtbags like
Yasser Arafat and Kofi Annan.

winning the peace prize is nothing to be proud of. After all the terrorist leader from the PLO was a winner of the peace prize. These people who select who wins the peace prize are nothing but a bunch of libral morons.

And he couldn't even pull off the Iran Hostage Rescue.
The longest period of time that American civilian citizians were ever held captive by a foriegn power in modern history. 444 days.
It cost him his re-election.

IMHO Jimmy Carter's single biggest failing is that he was simply too nice of a person to hold the office of President. He would have done much better as the head of the Red Cross or FEMA or some other type of organization that simple tries to help people.

hey cowboy, i agree. the peace prize folks blew their credibility with the arafat award.
As for Jimmey Carter speaking............. guess he has as much right to speak about the prez's job performance as Teddy Kennedy would to talk about driving or ethics.
:yikes:
Did I say that?
