WTF does a sixth grade teacher think she's doing spouting off her personal political views on my 12 year old daughters class, aren't these people paid to teach ? Good thing is daughter is ok (took some convincing) with me calling principal (never done b4) to make HUGE complaint. Can't we let kids be kids for christ sake!?

May I suggest scheduling a meeting with the teacher AND the Principal.

Make dang sure you make it know that the individual teachers political values (or lack there of), are not welcomed when teaching your daughter.

Exactly. Talk to the administration.

I had a history teacher back in High School who was teaching the section on the 1960's from her point of view. Anti war, anti establishment, anti government, anti this, anti that. It was not balanced in any form regarding the views / opinions of all "sides" of the issues during that era.

One day, she made the comment about joining the anti war movement in college because she wasn't popular and couldn't get a date. So she quote, "joined the band wagon of the anti war movement and it changed her life forever." Guess she must really hate how all those who were committed to the "cause" then, only to grow up to "sell out" and are now driving Beemers and summering in the Hamptons.

So, I went home with some of the literature she was handing out. My parents had a kitten. They went to the adminsitration. The admistration spoke with the teacher in question and the class without the teacher present. She got fired. She was not teaching what the adminstration or the school district had approved, and was fired as a result of it. When they saw the literature she was handing out, that pretty sealed her fate.

Just a follow up I called and spoke to principal on Thurs @ 14:00. gave him my story said "he'd look into it" I talk to daughter after school she says she was hauled into office and asked questions and her version of what's going on, apparently there were other complaints because she wasn't the only kid questioned and they brought her into the office 5 hours before I called

Our child recently transitioned from a Special school into a mainstream Public school. I t takes alot of effort to do. At Walmart we ran into one of his old teachers. She went into a wrant about how he did not earn the transition and his problems. I went off on her right there. Called school Monday. The teacher is now under review and temporary suspension. We had witnesses that gave us their names and numbers.

Teachers (some) think it is ok to go beyond their classroom duties. It is not ok with many parents and should be called on when ever they do such.

My guess is they let her ride out the year and don't invite her back the school has had mucho complaints on this person and her penchant for things inappropriate
