View Full Version : Ok Dave, I'm venting yet again.....
My appt. was for 6 pm tonight. I show up early (of course), only to find that the product hasn't even been run yet and won't be ready until 1 in the morning. Looks like I'll be in a bit of a hurry to get to my appt in San Antonio later in the morning. :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf:
So, night all. I need to get some shut eye. Hope everyone has a good Friday night and weekend. :D :D :D :D
Thankfully this load pays really good............

That's 3/4 of the problem with this industry! Shippers that refuse to allow us (drivers), the proper time to make the run.
I'd tell 'em to get bent! It'll be there in ___ hours from now. Switch the appointment time or it'll get there when I get it there........LEGALLY!
Been there, done that! :D They've hated me for it since.

Well, didn't mean to make you think I couldn't do it legally. It just didn't fit with my plans. Normally, I'm loaded within an hour, and I'm gone.
My plans were to ease on down to the cafe at the 351 (?). I know the exit, just not sure about the number. Get some grub, and head on down. Get lots of sleep on the other end, and head home after I'm empty.
I drive like a grandma. I try to plan my trips so that I have plenty of time to get where I'm going, and get the rest that I want. If you ever see me passing you, I'm late or you're drving a lot slower than I am (like the "Yellow" trucks). I've got the truck turned down to 70 mph, and normally set the cruise at 65.
So, I'm kind of a baby. I die if I ever had to OTR and make the miles.
As luck would have it, I got loaded a lot earlier than expected.

HSLD you are not alone.
I hate to feel rushed. When I am driving, I like to be able to feel relaxed and enjoy the views.
Don't let someone elses misery get you down. :D

It's to bad alot of company guy's can't just tell them to get bent. They get forced or face dispatch anger.
I like driving easy to. It's the only way to go.

Oh no LugNut....I am a comapny driver and I have never been forced a dispatch, and yes I have turned down loads before with no retribution. There are just some places that I will not go to anymore.
So you see not all companies are the same. I happen to be one of the lucky few that has found her niche ;)
